Review: Violet Voss “Like A Boss” Palette

Hi everyone! Hope you’re doing ok with all this pandemic craziness going on. Are you self isolating? Working from home? I unfortunately don’t have that option. But luckily I work in a very small office with no more than 2-3 of us there at one time (and I’m alone quite a bit too). But I have to be there to answer the phone and process any paperwork that comes in.

Anyhow, enough of that. Today I have a review for you of the Like A Boss palette from Violet Voss. I picked this up in January when my Sephora had it on sale.

So get comfy and let’s get going!

So like I mentioned, I got this palette on sale for $31.50 (it normally retails for $45). It contains 20 shades in a mix of matte, shimmer, metallic and duochrome finishes. The Violet Voss site says this palette is “limited edition” but as of the time of this writing, it’s still available for sale on their site as well as at Sephora. Violet Voss is also a cruelty-free brand, which is always great to see.

The packaging of this palette is your standard cardboard, but the cover is really pretty as it’s a kind of holographic/rainbow. The shadow pans inside are decently sized (they’re a little bigger than your typical MAC single shadows). There’s also a good size mirror. What drew me to this palette are the greens and golds as they’re different from anything else I own. I surprisingly didn’t really have anything like this in my collection.

The shades in the palette are:

Hustle-Fresh Cream
Baddie– Soft Taupe
Queen– Rusty Copper
Boss– Teddy Bear Brown
Strong– Deep Warm Chocolate
Fierce– Champagne-like warm tan
Serve– Chestnut
Realness– Copper Auburn Rust
Werk– Burn Sienna
Snatched– Raw Umber
WCW– Soft Creamy Brown
Amazeballs– Medium Champagne Gold
Girl Crush– True Yellow Gold
Adulting– Copper Bronze
Motivate– Medium Brown Taupe
Swag– Frosty White Gold Shift
Extra– Soft Gold, Green, and Brown Shifts
Smart AF- Dual Chrome Brown/Green
Royal– Deep Green
Inspo – Black

This is the first Violet Voss palette I’ve ever owned, and I have to say I’m impressed. The shadows are soft, super pigmented and they apply/blend really nicely. How they swatch is basically how they look on the eyes. They last on me all day with no fading of creasing (but as I always mention, I use a base/primer underneath, usually my MAC paint pot in Painterly). I’ve used pretty much every shade in the palette and have created some really pretty looks. You can do something super neutral or glam it up with the gold & green tones. I particularly like the shades Extra, Smart AF, Girl Crush, Swag & Fierce.

And now the fun part… swatches! These were all done with no more than two swipes for the mattes and only one swipe was needed for the shimmers & metallics. Also, no base/primer was used:

Yeah those colors are stunning, aren’t they? Every time I play with this palette I’m “ooohing” and “aahhing” over it.

So obviously, I would recommend this palette if you’re looking for some different green and gold shades. It’s a very versatile palette and I’m glad I decided to add it to my collection.

Ok that should do it! Do you own this palette or any other Violet Voss palettes? Which others by them should I check out sometime? I definitely would like to add more to my collection.

As always, thank you all so much for reading and your support. I’ll see you again soon in my next post!
