Hey guys! How’s it going?
I got my favorites for the month of January for you guys today! There’s not much this month, but a few noteworthy things I wanted to let you guys know about.
You ready? Let’s get going!
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
I got this for Christmas from my boyfriend. I’ve used it in the past and have liked it, so it’s nice to be back using it again. You know I absolutely LOVED the Belief Aqua Bomb, but it’s so expensive. I think the Clinique works exactly the same, plus you get like 3 times the amount of product for $10 LESS than the price of the Belif. This bottle is so huge and I only need one pump for my whole face… I may not need to buy moisturizer again the rest of the year! It absorbs quickly into the skin and gives me the moisture I need while helping control oil.
BH Cosmetics Royal Affair Eyeshadow Palette
I picked this up at Ulta during the holidays (I just reviewed it last week – click here if you missed it). I am really enjoying this thing. I love the colors. Great mix of tones, colors, neutrals… and everything I’ve used applies and blends really nicely. I wore this today, went to Sephora with a friend and an employee came up and asked me what I was wearing on my eyes because she thought it looked really pretty. I especially love the shades Throne (icy blue with a purple shift) and Lord (metallic taupey purple).
Clairol Root Touchup Concealing Powder
I have to touch up my roots every month because my hair grows out like weeds. But my roots are almost 100% grey, which does NOT look cute with dark reddish-brown hair. But sometimes I just don’t have the time to do a proper touchup. That’s where this powder from Clairol comes in. I got the Dark Brown shade and it does a pretty dang good job covering up my roots when I need a quick touchup before I can do it properly (it washes out when you wash your hair). It’s not a perfect match to my hair color, but it blends in just enough that it’s not noticeable. I want to get the red shade so I can mix it with the dark brown to get a better color match. Oh and you can use this powder on your brows too!
Hask Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner
I’m a big fan of Hask hair products. I loved their Kalahari Melon Oil line that was for color treated hair (you can read my review of it here). Unfortunately it got discontinued, which really bummed me out. But all Hask products are sulfate-free (which is a MUST when you have color treated hair), so I got their Monoi Coconut shampoo & conditioner to try as I really like their Monoi Coconut styling creme oil. This stuff smells SO freaking good! I like how it makes my hair feel soft and nourished. They just came out with a Monoi Coconut version of their 5-in-1 leave-in spray, which I can’t wait to get my hands on (I love the Argan Oil version).
Not Your Mother’s Naturals Royal Honey & Kalahari Desert Melon Dry Shampoo
I got this last year during the holidays from Influenster. I had tried the Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak dry shampoo maybe a year beforehand and HATED it. It made my hair feel absolutely disgusting. So I was a bit apprehensive about trying this. But… I was pleasantly surprised! First, it smells really good (the Clean Freak said it was “unscented” but it smelled awful). You don’t need too much and it doesn’t leave much of a white cast (it will if you use too much though). It absorbs into the hair nice and doesn’t make it feel dirtier than it already is. I’ll probably repurchase this (after I get though the giant can of Batiste I still have sitting in my bathroom).
Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer
Storytime! One day a couple weeks ago, I didn’t have time to do my brows in the morning. But I had somewhere to be after work and I had no time to go home to do my brows. There’s a CVS up the road from my office, so I popped by there right after work to see what my options were. I had a coupon in my CVS app for 40% off Maybelline, and this little pencil caught my eye. And I grabbed it on a whim. Got in my car to do my brows (using the mirror in the sun visor… glamorous, I know. LOL!). And wouldn’t you know it, this little pencil saved my butt! It has a kind of slim diamond shape. I got the shade Deep Brown, which ended up being a perfect match. It did a great job drawing/filling in my almost non-existent brows. I was super impressed. My brows looked great and I was able to go to my after-work thing without looking like a freak with no eyebrows. I now keep it in my bag for future brow emergencies. And once it’s used up, I’ll definitely repurchase!
And that’s everything! Have you tried any of these products? What were some of your favorites from this past month?
As always, thank you all so much for reading. I’ll see you again soon in my next post!
