March 2017 Favorites!

Hey guys! How’s it going? Can you believe it’s already April?

I got my March Favorites for you guys today. I know… I didn’t do February faves, but I really didn’t have anything that really stood out for me during that month. I do for March though, so fasten your seat belts and let’s get going!

Japonesque Complexion Sponge

This is the closest dupe for a Beauty Blender I’ve found yet. It’s even the same shape (albeit the Japonesque one is a little bigger). It does a great job blending out foundation and concealer and applying loose setting powder too. Right now, you can only get this sponge as part of a set that comes with a smaller sponge and a travel size of the solid cleanser (which retails for $18, which is slightly cheaper than a real Beauty Blender, but a good deal considering you get 2 spongers and a cleanser for that price). Maybe one day Japonesque will sell the sponges separately? One can hope.

L’Oreal Magic Perfecting Base

This is an old favorite that’s made its way back. If you’ve been reading my blog, you’ll know a couple years ago, I came across a bunch of the little travel size jars of this primer at Dollar Tree… and pretty much bought the entire stock. It was such a game changer for me. I finally got a full size jar of this last month (I used up all the travel size ones ages ago) and I fell in love with it all over again. I like a thicker consistency pore filler and this one fits the bill perfectly.

Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Combo/Oily Skin

I really liked this foundation when I used it a few years ago but then for some reason I never repurchased. Then this past winter I finally got a new bottle (SO happy they added a pump… why don’t they do this with more drugstore foundations here in the US? WE WANT PUMPS!) and remembered why I liked it so much. It has great coverage and staying power. I’m actually on my 2nd bottle of this since rediscovering it and I will absolutely repurchase once this bottle is used up.

Morgan Taylor Nail Polishes in Enchanted Patina and No Way Rose

Enchanted Patina

No Way Rose

I picked these up at Ulta awhile back on a whim. I’d never tried any polishes from Morgan Taylor before, but these shades called to me. Enchanted Patina is part of the limited edition Beauty & the Beast collection. It’s a a gorgeous pink/gold duochrome shade that’s supposed to be a topper, but you can wear it alone too (takes a few coats to make it opaque). No Way Rose is a permanent shade (I think) and can only be described as shimmery rose gold goodness. I’ve gotten several compliments when wearing both of these polishes.

Kevyn Aucoin The Expert Mascara in Bloodroses

I got this in my press goodie bag at The Makeup Show. I don’t want to say too much as I’ll have a full review here on the blog soon, but I will say this mascara took me by total surprise how much I like it.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Rosewater, Herbs & Aole

I love this stuff. I love using it so many different ways. I’ll spray some on my Beauty Blender to help blend out foundation more evenly. Spray some on my face after I set my foundation with powder then go over with my damp Beauty Blender to take away the powdery look and have my skin look more like skin. Use as a skin and/or makeup refresher throughout the day (I keep a bottle in my bag for on the go). It’s such a great multi-tasker. And it smells so good (wonderful rose scent). I just ordered the new one (green tea, aloe & cucumber) so I’m excited to give that one a try too.

MAC Shadows in Sumptuous Olive & Indian Ink

Sumptuous Olive

Indian Ink

I got these as part of my MAC haul back in February. Indian Ink is a gorgeous deep eggplant purple I love using in the crease for a pop of color, and Sumptuous Olive is a really pretty olive green shade I love to use all over the lid.

ColourPop Pressed Powder Shadows

ColourPop hit it out of the park with these pressed powder shadows. They’re super pigmented and the shade selection is really nice. I especially like the duochromes (big surprise, right?) and plan on getting more of those.

Bdellium Tools Brushes

I picked up a few of these at The Makeup Show as I’d been wanting to try them for awhile. I’ll have a full review of these soon too, but I will say they did not disappoint and I want more!

And that’s it! What were some of your favorite products from the last month? Tell me about them below in the comments.

As always, thank you all so much for reading and I’ll see you again soon in my next post!

  1. I’ve been keeping my eyes open for the Japonesque Complexion Sponge ever since you raved about it. Unfortunately, Japonesque isn’t a brand that’s readily available here.
And you remind me that I should pull out Sumptuous Olive to use more often… it’s such a pretty shade and fantastic formula.
Yeah the B is silent Bdellium brushes are fantastic! 😉
Both of those Morgan Taylor Nail Polishes are STUNNING!
