Hey guys! How’s your week going?
Today’s post is going to be a haul! I recently picked up some things at Ulta, the drugstore and a couple other places.
What did I get? Keep on reading to find out!
Let’s start off with a couple one-off items I picked up.
I had a $5 reward from Kohl’s to use, so I picked another of the Meet Matt(e) Hughes liquid lipsticks from The Balm. I got the shade Trustworthy, which is a kind of deep terracotta shade. It is so pretty and actually quite wearable. I love topping it off with my Bite Beauty Opal lipgloss to give it some shine and a bit of an iridescent look without altering the overall color.
At Big Lots, I picked up a couple more packs of my favorite Epielle Green Tea makeup wipes. I go through these like nobody’s business, which makes me happy they’re only $1 for a pack of 30 wipes.
Ok onto the drugstore! I made a couple visits to CVS to take advantage of some ExtraBucks rewards and coupons I had waiting to be used.
I picked up a couple cans of my favorite Garnier anti-humidity hairspray and a bottle of their anti-humidity smoothing milk. This stuff really does hold up in humidity, which I love.
I also picked up this new lip balm from Almay. Emily over on Beauty Broadcast on YouTube had recently said some good things about it, and I value her opinion (she’s one of the few totally honest YouTubers out there these days), so I decided to check it out for myself as I’d been looking for a new lip balm to try. So far… I’m liking it. It doesn’t feel waxy and it makes my lips look and feel softer and smoother. And it smells like cotton candy!
I picked up one of the Idol Eyes shadow pencils from Wet N Wild in the shade Techno. I’d had my eye on this for ages and finally decided to get it. It’s a gorgeous blue-purple duochrome shade. I can’t wait to play with it!
The last thing I got at the drugstore was a set of the Kiss Gel Fantasy nails in the color Ab Fab. A little backstory… I had made up a new set of nails earlier in the week using the Wet N Wild Megalast polish in Under Your Spell, which is a gorgeous dark, vampy red shade. Unfortunately, those nails got totally mangled last Saturday, so I had to soak them off. I didn’t have the time or patience to make up a new set, so I grabbed these ones from Kiss to try since the color is very similar to the Wet N Wild polish. So far I’m really impressed with these nails and I might pick some different colors/designs to try in the future.
And finally onto Ulta! I had a coupon for 20% off my entire purchase, including high end brands, plus I had my winnings from the previous weekend at the casino to use toward my purchase.
I also had a coupon I got in my email for a free mini Buxom Full On Lip Polish in the shade Dolly. I already had a deluxe mini of this shade and I love it. It’s a really pretty mauve shade you can wear alone or on top of another lip product. It tingles a little bit when you wear it, but it’s more like a cool, minty sensation instead of something that straight up burns like some lip plumping products. And it smells like cake!
I got a bottle of the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot foundation. I’d heard good things about this foundation via YouTubers Casey Holmes and Nicole from Young, Wild & Polished. They’re both oily skinned girls and both have said they like this foundation a lot. What sold me on wanting to try it though is Nicole saying it’s a lot like the Too Faced Born This Way foundation, but more matte. I love the Born This Way foundation, so a more matte option got me excited. I’ll have a full review of this foundation up on the blog in the near future, so keep an eye out for that.
I picked up a new can of my favorite Batiste dry shampoo. I love the Wild scent the best. I’ve gone through so many cans of this stuff it’s ridiculous.
Over in the clearance section, I snagged a set of 4 mini polishes from OPI’s New Orleans collection. This originally retailed for $14.50, but I scored it for just $4.97! I mostly got it because it includes the shade “Show Us Your Tips!” which looks so pretty, plus the name makes me giggle (because I’m 12).
Also in the clearance section, I got a small bottle of the Pureology Reviving Red Illuminating Caring Oil for $2.97 (regularly $14). I color my hair reddish brown, so I like using products to help enhance the red. So I’m excited to try this out and see how it works.
The last 2 things I got at Ulta are from Tarte.
I got the Tartelette Faves set that has deluxe minis of 6 of Tarte’s best selling products. I’ll have a full review of this set on the blog in the near future.
And lastly.. I’m surprised I was able to get my hands on this because it’s been selling out quickly everywhere… I got the Grav3yardGirl Swamp Queen palette! I’m a fan of Bunny (aka Grav3yardGirl) and have been a subscriber to her YouTube channel for a couple years now. Some might find her loud and off-putting, but I think she’s hilarious. She knows she’s an odd duck and doesn’t care. She embraces it. And I like that attitude. To be honest though, I wasn’t going to get this palette at first, but I swatched it in-store and was impressed with the shades, so I decided to get it (they only had a few in stock too). I will have a full review and swatches of this palette on the blog soon, so stay tuned for it!
And that’s everything! As of now I am officially on a no-buy for the rest of the month. I did this last July as well. It’s tough, but I did it before so I know I can do it again.
So what would you like to see a review of here first? Let me know below in the comments.
As always, than you all so much for reading and your support. You guys are the best! I’ll see you again on Friday with a new post! 🙂
