First Empties Post of 2016!

Hey guys! How was your weekend? Do anything fun?  Friday night my boyfriend’s band had a gig, so I was at that. Saturday I did a little shopping and indulged in some conveyor belt sushi (check out my Instagram for a couple photos) and yesterday I spent the afternoon with my boyfriend and we got more sushi (what can I say? We love sushi!).

Anyhow, today’s post is going to be an empties post! First one of the year! I haven’t done one of these in ages and the empties basket has been overflowing so it’s time, right? Got lots to talk about, so grab yourself a beverage of choice, something to snack on and let’s get it started!

Ok so let’s start with hair products.

First up are a couple cans of the Garnier anti-humidity hairspray. I love this stuff. It doesn’t make my hair feel sticky or crunchy and it actually helps fight against humidity so my hair doesn’t turn into a giant frizzball. I’ll keep repurchasing as long as they make it.

Next are a couple bottles each of the Not Your Mother’s Way to Grow shampoo & conditioner. I’m really loving this stuff. It makes my hair feel clean and soft and it’s sulfate free, so it doesn’t fade my hair color. it supposedly is supposed to help your hair grow out stronger faster. Not sure how true it is, but my hair has definitely seen some visible growth since I started using this stuff. I just recently repurchased more.

Up next is a can of the Batiste dry shampoo. Again… love it. Best dry shampoo I’ve ever used. I love the “Wild” scent in the leopard print can.

And the last hair product is the Garnier anti-humidity smoothing milk. I love this stuff too. It makes my hair feel soft while taming frizz. It’s lightweight so it doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it look grungy.

And now onto skincare!

Got 3 products from OZ Naturals. First is the Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C serum. I love this stuff. My skin saw a real difference while using it (you can read my full review of it here). I’ll repurchase, but I have a couple other bottles of serum to get through first. Next is the Super Youth Eye Gel. I liked this, but it didn’t seem to perform any different from other eye gels/creams I’ve used. But it’s good stuff. And last is the Ocean Minerals Toner Spray. This was different as I’d never used a toner that came in spray form before. I really liked this stuff as besides toner, it can be used as a makeup/skin refresher. I might repurchase this, but I have other toners to use up first.

Next are a couple packs of the Epielle makeup wipes. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you’ll know I love these drugstore Korean makeup wipes. They do a good job removing makeup and are super affordable at just $1 for a pack of 30 wipes. And they come in lots of different varieties (Vitamin C, Collagen, Argan Oil, Aloe, Green Tea, Citrus, etc.). I like the Green Tea and Vitamin C ones the best.

Up next are a couple of the Sephora green tea sheet masks. I really like these things (you can read my full review here). These masks are for mattifying & anti-blemish and they do a great job. I’ve gone through about 4 or 5 of these masks now and I’ll definitely purchase them again.

Next is a travel size of the Dove body wash in Mandarin & Tiare Flower scent. This stuff smells really good and made my skin feel soft. I might purchase a full size bottle of this sometime.

And finally we have the Garnier Moisture Rescue gel moisturizer for normal/combo skin. This is my holy grail moisturizer. It smells amazing and absorbs super quick into the skin, which is a must-have if you have oily/combo skin. It doesn’t feel sticky or greasy either. I’m currently on my 3rd jar of this now.

And finally… the makeup products!

First up are several tubes of the NYX HD concealer. I love this stuff. I usually stock up when Ulta has NYX on special BOGO 50% off. It’s creamy, has good coverage and doesn’t crease on me.

Next is a tube of the Elf Tone Correcting Concealer. I bought this when I was out & about and needed emergency concealer (and not all Targets carried NYX yet at the time). This stuff was ok in a pinch. The consistency was kind of thin though. I think this product has been discontinued and Elf has a different concealer available now.

Next is another Elf product, the Shadow Lock eye primer. This stuff isn’t half bad. It does it’s job making shadows look bolder and lasting longer on the lids. Not a bad $2 investment. I’m currently on my 2nd tube.

Up next are a few mascaras. First is the L’Oreal Voluminous Curved Brush. This one actually got dried out, so that’s why I’m tossing it. This mascara was ok but not a favorite of mine. It clumped my lashes together more than I liked. Next is the Revlon Bold Lacquer. I liked this one pretty well (read my review of it here). It’s kind of similar to the Urban Decay Perversion (which is a holy grail product for me). And last is a travel size of the Smashbox Full Exposure mascara. I love this. Before I discovered the UD Perversion, this was my holy grail high end mascara.

Next is the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hr Foundation. As you know, this is my holy grail drugstore foundation. I went though a few bottles of this last year. It looks great on the skin, has a natural/satin finish and lasts all day. Rimmel, if you’re reading this, never stop making this foundation!

And next is a bottle of the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless foundation. This is actually the original bottle I got and the shade is too dark for me now. I kept holding onto it for some reason but now I’m ready to toss it. I have a bottle in my current correct shade now and I do love this foundation quite a bit.

Got a couple setting sprays up next. First is a deluxe mini of the Urban Decay All-Nighter. This stuff works pretty good, but It didn’t work any different than the next setting spray, the NYX Matte Finishing Spray. This drugstore spray to me works just as well as the UD one… and costs a fraction of the price. I’ve gone through several bottles of the NYX one and I’ll repurchase for sure.

Up next is the NYX Microbrow pencil. I really love this and have gone through a few of them. Right now I’m using the Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil, which I also love. Once I’m finished with that I’ll probably go back to the NYX one.

Next is a travel size of the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Mattifying Primer. I love this stuff. Love. I only use it on my nose and chin, so I can make a travel size of this last close to 6 months. I just cracked open a fresh tube. This stuff works right away mattifying the skin.

And up next is a travel size of the L’Oreal Magic Perfecting Base. This is a pore filler and it is a MAJOR game changer for me (you can read my full review here). I found a bunch of these little travel size jars at Dollar Tree about a year ago and pretty much bought them all. I plan on purchasing a full size jar of this very soon.

And finally I have what’s left of one of the Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes eyeliners. This has been a holy grail product for me for several years. It takes forever go go through one of these things. I still have a couple more that are almost done but not quite yet. They’re pigmented and once they set, they don’t budge until you take it off. It’s great for using on your upper or lower lashline.

And that’s everything! If you made it to the end of this post, congratulations! I hope you enjoyed it.

As always, thank you all so much for reading. May the rest of your Monday be good to you and I’ll see you again Wednesday with a new post! 🙂

  1. Wow you went through a LOT of concealer! Do you eat that stuff? 😛
I love the Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes eyeliner too – there’s a taupe shade that is PERFECT for lining my lower lash line – it defines it but doesn’t look obvious. I hope they never discontinue it!
