Hey guys! How was your weekend? Do anything fun?
Today’s post is going to be a review and swatches of the Unicorns Unite Salvation palette from Makeup Revolution.
If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll know I did a review of Makeup Revolution’s Girls On Film Salvation palette (you can read it here if you missed it) not too long ago and that I really liked it. I knew I wanted to get more of their palettes but wasn’t sure which. Well, a photo on Instagram that Makeup Revolution posted of a look done with the Unicorns Unite palette changed all that.
This palette comes with 18 shadows – 12 shimmer and 6 matte. The shadows are gorgeous jewel tones, which are perfect for this time of year.
The packaging of this palette is similar to other Makeup Revolution palettes. It comes in a sturdy, black plastic case with the Makeup Revolution logo on the cover. A nice, big mirror is on the inside and the name of the palette is on the bottom.
The shimmer shadows have good pigmentation. They apply and blend out nicely and don’t crease (but I also always use an eye primer). The matte shadows, when swatched, don’t really show up much; but when applied, they show up pretty nicely. The shadows last all day too.
My favorite shadow in the palette is the reason why I got it… the coppery/peachy shade 3rd from the left on the top row. It is so freaking gorgeous. I really love all the colors in this palette though. The dark teal shade that’s 4th from the left on the bottom row is stunning and so appropriate for the holidays. Really all the colors in this palette are super pretty.
Apparently the shadows in these palettes have names, but they’re not listed on the palette itself or on the box. I even looked on the Makeup Revolution website and didn’t see anything. If I would change anything about this palette (or the other Makeup Revolution palettes), it would be to include the names of the shadows.
So how about the swatches I promised, yeah?
You can get this palette at Ulta if you live in the States (and you can use their $3.50 off $10 coupon since Makeup Revolution is considered a “drugstore brand”) and at Superdrug if you live in the UK. You can also order off the Makeup Revolution website (they ship worldwide). I definitely recommend checking this one out
Ok that should do it for today! As always thank you all so much for reading! Have a good one and I’ll see you again Wednesday with a new post! 🙂
