Review & Swatches: Makeup Revolution Ultimate Blush Palette in Hot Spice

Hey guys! How was your weekend? Do anything fun? Any of my followers in the States have today off for Labor Day? I do!

Today’s post is going to be a review and swatches of the Makeup Revolution Ultimate Blush Palette in Hot Spice.

I picked up this palette at Ulta a few weeks ago as I saw it on YouTube and thought it looked really pretty.

It comes with 8 blushes – 4 shimmer, 2 matte and 2 baked. Each shade is more on the peachy/coral side with a little pink and orange tossed in for good measure. It’s a palette that’s more on the warm toned side as well.

The shimmer blushes aren’t glittery and the shimmer doesn’t really translate much when applied – they give off more of a nice glow. The baked blushes give a light wash of color and the one on the top row is actually perfect to use as a highlighter.

The pigmentation of the blushes are pretty good. Some are more pigmented than others, but all the shades are workable and the less pigmented ones can be built up to the color payoff of your liking.

Check out these swatches:

Top Row. You can’t see the baked blush on the far right too well in the photo, but it’s a really pretty pinky-silvery shade that works great as a highlight.

Bottom row

This palette sells for $10, which is a pretty good deal for 8 blushes. Makeup Revolution also makes a blush palette called Sugar & Spice. The blushes in that palette appear to be more on the pink side. It looks really pretty as well. And you can use the $3.50 off $10 coupons Ulta does as Makeup Revolution is considered a drugstore brand.

Ok that should do it for today! Have you tried the Hot Spice blush palette or the Sugar & Spice one? If so, what do you think? Tell me your thoughts below in the comments.

As always thank you all so much for reading! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I’ll see you again Wednesday with a new post! 🙂

  1. I received this palette in a swap from the UK and I’m so impressed!
I’ve just started trying out a couple of shades – last week I wore the coral shimmery shade on the lower left side and was quite surprised it is pigmented and lasted all day.
Thanks for reviewing this – I haven’t had a chance to use all the colours yet but I’m looking forward to it.
