Hey guys! How’s your week going?
Today’s post is going to be a review and swatch of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector highlighter in the shade Champagne Pop. You ready? Let’s get going!
Ok so as you probably know, YouTube beauty sensation Jaclyn Hill did a collaboration with Becca Cosmetics and created a shade of their Shimmeing Skin Perfector highlighter called Champagne Pop. It’s a limited edition and a Sephora exclusive, but as of the writing of this post it’s still available on Sephora’s website and still available at select Sephora physical stores as well (it’s always best to call your local store first to see if they have it in stock to save a potentially wasted trip).
So let’s start with the packaging. It comes in a pretty kind of rose gold colored box. On the back is a photo of Jaclyn and a little blurb written by her. The packaging of the product itself is the same as the other highlighters from Becca. It’s great packaging though. Very sturdy and it actually looks like a little UFO to me.
According to Jaclyn, she created Champagne Pop to be a color that would look great on all skin tones – from pale to deep chocolate. She mentioned once in one of her YouTube videos that most highlighter shades look weird on her sister, but Champagne Pop looks great on her, so if it looks good on her sister, it should look good on anyone. The shade is described as a soft white gold with pinky peach undertones. That description is pretty accurate, though I see more peach than pink. It’s a pressed powder that is very smooth and soft to the touch.
Pigmentation is out of this world! You only need to tap a brush into this to get a nice payoff. It’s shimmery, but it doesn’t have chunks of glitter in it. Once applied and blended out, it gives off a beautiful glow. You can really sheer it out for a more subtle look for daytime, or if you’re the type that likes to be a human disco ball, you can build it up for an intense look.
One of my favorite things about this shade is you can use it as more than just a highlighter on your cheekbones and high points of your face. I’ve used it as a brow bone highlight and even as an eye shadow. I’ve even seen some YouTubers put it on their bare shoulders in tutorials (when wearing a sleeveless top). But no matter where you apply it, it’s just so gorgeous. Staying power is really good as well. I’ve worn this highlighter all day, including outside in crazy heat and humidity for hours on end and its stayed on. So that’s very impressive.
Champage Pop retails for $38 – same price as the other highlighters from Becca. As I already mentioned, you can only get it at Sephora and it is a limited edition, so if you’ve been thinking about getting it, you might want to get it soon as once they’re gone… they’re gone.
And that should do it for today! Have you been able to get your hands on this limited edition highlighter? How do you like it? If you don’t have it, are you planning on getting it? Sound off below in the comments.
As always, thank you all so much for reading! Enjoy the rest of your day and I’ll see you again Friday with a new post! 🙂
