Happy Friday, beauties! I don’t know about you guys, but I am SO ready for the weekend!
Today I have a review and swatches of the brand new Revealed 3 palette by Coastal Scents.
So, Coastal Scents released this third installment of their Revealed palette series a couple weeks ago. I had absolutely no idea they were going to do this, so the announcement totally threw me for a loop. I finally got around to ordering it last week and I spent all this week playing with it.
Like the original Revealed and Revealed 2 palettes, the Revealed 3 comes with 20 eye shadows. There are 3 matte shades, 11 shimmers, 4 that have glitter in them and 2 that have more of a satin finish. So there are a variety of different finishes in this palette.
Now compared to the original Revealed, which is a more cool toned palette and Revealed 2, which is more warm toned, the Revealed 3 seems to be a mix of both warm and cool tones, which is really a win-win for everyone. Now, I love my warm tones, but every now and then I like to play with cool tones to break things up (which is probably why I love my Lorac Pro Palette 2 so much).
As for the colors in this palette, there’s a mix of browns, neutrals, pinks, purples and a couple gold shades as well. I really like the variety of colors as it gives you a lot of options to play with for different looks. The colors also play well with the colors in the other Revealed palettes, so you could mix and match between all three palettes if you want, to create various looks.
All of the shadows in this palette are soft and buttery. As always with Coastal Scents eye shadows, there are hits and misses. The Revealed palettes have been mostly hit and this third one is no different. The lighter shades, especially the matte ones, can come off as a little chalky and some of the lighter shades don’t have the best pigmentation and have to be built up a little to get a good color payoff (which personally isn’t a major issue for me but I know there are some who get bothered by it). The darker colors are much better in terms of pigmentation.
These shadows apply as well as all the other Coastal Scents shadows I have and they blend pretty well too. I like that kind of taupey-purple shade 2nd from the left on the bottom row. It works great as a transition shade or on its own all over the lid. This past Wednesday, I did a real simple eye look using the 3rd from the right on the bottom row in my crease, the next shade over on the left (kind of a warm champagne goldish color) all over the lid and the shade on the far left in the top row as my brow highlight. Those three looked really nice together for an everyday look.
So yeah I’ve really been enjoying this palette. But I’ll be honest. If I had to pick a favorite of all 3 Revealed palettes, I’d go with the Revealed 2. I just personally like the colors in that palette the best (I love pinks, rose gold and warm shades in general). But I’m in no way knocking the Revealed 3. It’s a really nice palette with some really pretty colors and I’m looking forward to playing with it even more and creating all sorts of different looks with it as well as incorporating this palette with shadows from other palettes I own (including the original Revealed and Revealed 2). So if you’re a fan of the colors in this palette, definitely get it. If you’re a collector and completist and want to add this palette to your collection… again, get it!
All three of the Revealed palettes normally sell on the Coastal Scents website for $19.95, which is a great deal for a palette of 20 shadows. But sometimes they have flash sales where the palettes are on special for as low as $9.97, which is an even better deal! So if you don’t want to pay the normal price, keep an eye out for those flash sales (they usually announce them on their Instagram and Facebook pages).
Ok that should do it for today! Are you a fan of Coastal Scents like I am? Do you plan on checking this palette out? Let me know below in the comments.
As always, thank you all so much for reading. I officially passed the 700 followers mark this week, which is absolutely amazing. Thank you all so much for your support and following along with me on here. It means so freaking much to me. You guys are awesome.
I hope you all have a wonderful, fun-filled weekend and I’ll see you again Monday with a new post! 🙂
