Review & Swatch: NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic

Happy Wednesday, beauties! I hope your week is going well.

For today’s post, I have a quick review and swatch for you guys of the NYX Cosmetics Illuminator in the shade Ritualistic. Got your beverage of choice ready? Let’s go!

Ok so the NYX Cosmetics Illuminator is a highlighter for both your face and body. Here’s a product description from the NYX site:

Brighten up your complexion! The radiant shimmer of this illuminator diffuses light so your skin looks vibrant and refreshed while adding a subtle glow.

I got the shade Ritualistic, which is a pale gold color. The highlighter is soft and very pigmented. From what I’ve seen, this particular shade is very similar to the popular Becca highlighter in Moonstone. This color looks great as a highlight on the cheekbones and also really pretty as an eyeshadow. I’ve applied it on my cheekbones using a fan brush as well as my Elf Studio concealer brush and it applies nicely with both brushes. A little goes a long way so when applying you need to be careful, otherwise you might end up looking like a disco ball. But when applied just right and the light hits the highlighter, it gives a really pretty glow.

The NYX Illuminators come in 5 different shades and retails for around $9. I definitely plan on getting one or two other shades from this line sometime as all the colors look really nice.

Alrighty that should do it for today! Have you tried this highlighter? Let me know your thoughts below in the comments.

As always, thanks for reading! Enjoy the rest of your day and I’ll see you again Friday with a new post! 🙂
