Happy Friday everyone! Ready for the weekend?
Today I got a review and swatches for you guys of the original Revealed palette by Coastal Scents. If you’ve been following my blog or in case you missed it, I already did a review of the Revealed 2 palette (which you can read here). I picked this palette up during the New Year’s sale Coastal Scents had, where everything on their site was 40% off. This palette normally sells for $19.95.
The original Revealed palette was released by Coastal Scents in I think 2013. It contains 20 neutral shades (there are 5 matte shades; the other 15 are a mix of shimmer and satin finishes). Some consider this palette to be a dupe of both the Naked 1 and Naked 2 palettes by Urban Decay… and for good reason. A lot of the shades in this palette are almost identical to many shades in the Naked palettes.
As for the actual shadows themselves, the colors are all very pretty, with some of the shimmer shades being truly gorgeous and have great pigmentation. Some of the matte shades are a little chalky, but pigmentation overall is decent. All the shadows in this palette are soft and smooth. There’s a good mix of warm and cool tones. They can all be applied wet or dry as well. With 20 shadows, this palette gives you the freedom to create a variety of looks for both daytime and night. I will admit I like my Revealed 2 palette a little more than this one (I just like the warmer rose tones of that palette), but both of these palettes are really nice.
If you don’t already have any of the Urban Decay Naked palettes and are looking for an affordable dupe, definitely give the Revealed palettes a try. You can get both for less the cost of just one Naked palette (and get 40 shadows over 2 palettes compared to 36 shadows over 3 palettes).
Ok that should about do it for today! I hope you enjoyed this post and as always thank you all so much for reading! I hope you have a fantastic weekend and I’ll see you again Monday with a new post! 🙂
