Review & Swatches: ELF Cheeky Glow Holiday Set

Happy Hump Day! I hope your week is going well.

Today I got a review and some swatches of the ELF Cheeky Glow holiday set that’s available right now. This particular set is a little tricky to find, but select Walgreens and Target stores have been carrying it. I found mine at TJ Maxx, so you might want to check them out at well. It costs $5.

This holiday set comes with a palette that contains a blush, bronzer and highlighter, and a small angled blush brush. Now I normally like the ELF makeup brushes, but the one included with this set is not very soft and is a bit on the scratchy size. It’s usable, but I personally don’t prefer it. This is too bad because since the brush is on the smaller side, it would be good for travel.

Onto the palette itself. The bronzer is kind of light for me, but it would probably work well on lighter skin tones. Those with medium and especially darker skin tones, this wouldn’t show up very well. I have medium skin and this is ok for very light contouring/bronzing but that’s about it. The blush, on the other hand, is GORGEOUS! It’s a really pretty peachy color with some shimmer in it, but the shimmer gives you a nice “lit from within” glow. This blush is pigmented enough that it would look great on probably any skin tone. The highlighter is different from your usual highlighter because it’s not shimmery at all. It has more of a satin finish that when the light hits it, it looks really nice and it’s a great subtle effect. This I feel would be a great “beginner” highlighter.

Highlighter on top (hard to see since it's got that more satin finish), Blush in the middle & Bronzer on the bottom (hard to see as it swatched light on my hand - tried to build it up a little for photo purposes though)

If you can find it, this holiday set is a great deal at just $5 and would make a great stocking-stuffer for a makeup loving friend… or even for yourself.

Ok that should do it for today! I hope you enjoyed it.

As always, thank you all so much for reading and I’ll see you again Friday with a new post! 🙂
