Review & Swatches: Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette

Hi everyone! Did you have a good weekend?

Today’s post is going to be a review and swatches of the Fall Festival eyeshadow palette by Coastal Scents. This palette contains 12 shadows that are perfect for creating a variety of fall looks  (but can be used all seasons as well). As always, I bought this palette with my own money.

The artwork on the box it comes in is very pretty!

The packaging of this palette is really nice. Very high quality. It’s sleek, sturdy and has a little bit of weight to it. It’s actually one of their magnetic palettes (which comes with a huge mirror on the inside cover) and each shadow is one of their individual Hot Pots. So if you run out of any particular shades you really like, you can purchase those shades individually (the Hot Pots cost just $1.95 each). This palette costs $12.95, which is a great deal (a 12 shadow palette and 12 Hot Pots bought individually would cost almost $30 total).

The shadows themselves are very pretty. There’s a mix of mattes, shimmers & metallics. I love the variety of colors. The shadows with Coastal Scents can be hit and miss. Some are great with softness and pigmentation while others can be a bit dusty and chalky and the pigmentation not the best. But don’t let that hold you back. There’s more good than bad. I find the shadows apply nicely and blend well. Staying power is good and it’s even better if you use an eye primer/base underneath. They haven’t creased on me either. The shadows can be applied wet or dry. I find the shades that don’t have the best pigmentation to work better when applied wet.

MIDDLE ROW: Kiwi Green, Deep Cantaloupe, Regalia Purple, American Rose
BOTTOM ROW: Cherry Chocolate, Raisin Berry, New Penny, Gunmetal

My favorite shades in this palette are Bright Copper, Deep Cantaloupe, Kiwi Green, Cherry Chocolate, Raisin Berry (I discovered this one is pretty much a dupe of Sangria by Anastasia Beverly Hills) & New Penny. But the whole palette is full of fun colors to experiment with.

So yeah I really like this palette a lot. It’s more versatile than it might look. Coastal Scents also has a couple other similar palettes with different themes (Winterberry, Creative Me #1 & Creative Me #2).

As I mentioned in my post last Friday, I’m now a member of the Coastal Scents affiliate program. If you use my affiliate link (click here, and also the image on the sidebar), I do receive a small commission on orders placed. But that means I’ll have more money to buy new things to try and review here on my blog, which is a win/win for everyone!

Ok that should do it for today’s post! I hope you enjoyed it! As always, thank you all so much for reading! I hope the rest of your day is fantabulous and I’ll see you again Wednesday with a new post! 🙂
