Happy Hump Day! And for you readers in the States, Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Today I got a review of the New Charity Pot hand & body lotion from LUSH. The Charity Pot program was launched by LUSH back in 2007. The proceeds from the sales (minus taxes) go to help various small grassroots charities around the world. To date, they have raised over $5.8 million for over 600 charities in 35 countries. The Charity Pot I got, the proceeds went to help the fight against fur farming.
LUSH recently changed the formula of the Charity Pot hand & body lotion. I never tried the original, but I heard it had a chocolate/earthy scent. Here’s a description of the new Charity Pot formula from the LUSH website:
Now in a self-preserving formula, this is a gorgeous body lotion that does a lot of good – and not just for your skin! With a new, delicately floral perfume of ylang ylang and rosewood oils in a hydrating cocoa butter base, moisturizing with Charity Pot will leave your skin subtly perfumed and touchably soft. This rich and generous cream now contains seven ingredients sourced from our sustainable SLush Fund projects around the world.
The New Charity Pot’s lotion is a kind of a creamy, off-white color. The scent is light, a little floral-ish and not overpowering. It’s very thick and creamy like a body butter – and a little definitely goes a long way. Let me say this lotion is VERY hydrating. I’ll put some on in the morning and I don’t have to reapply at all during the day (even to my elbows). I’m really impressed with this stuff!
Here’s a video from LUSH’s YouTube channel showing how the Charity Pot lotion is made:
The Charity Pot comes in 2 sizes: a small 1.7 oz. version for $6.95 and a large 8.4 oz. version for $25.95. Yeah the larger size is a little on the spendy side, but remember the money goes toward helping one of several great causes. I definitely recommend checking this product out if you’re in the market for a new body lotion.
Ok that should do it for today! As always, thank you so much for reading! To my followers in the US, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow! Try not to eat too much turkey and I’ll see you all again Friday with a new post! 🙂
