Quick Review: Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss

Welcome to another Monday, everyone!

Today is going to be a quick review of the Marvelous Moxie lipgloss from Bare Minerals.

If you’re a member of the Bare Escentuals FAB (Friends And Benefits) rewards program, which is free to join (you can sign up here), on your birthday they’ll send you a email for a free Marvelous Moxie lipgloss, which you can redeem either online or if you have a Bare Escentuals boutique near you, you can redeem in store. Since I have the latter near me, I did that.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Happy Birthday to Me!

The birthday lipgloss is in the shade Spark Plug, which is a dusty pink pearl. The tube is just slightly smaller than the full-size version (the full-size is 4.5 mL/0.15 fl. oz. and the birthday size is 3.5 mL/0.11 fl. oz.), so it’s a pretty good size for a freebie as a full-size tube costs $18.

Here’s the product description from the Bare Escentuals site:

Luscious, vibrant color loaded into a refreshing formula that slips on satiny-smooth for sheer-to-medium coverage with nonstop glistening shine.

As you can see from the swatch on the back of my hand below, the  color is a nice kind of nude “dusty pink”. It can go on sheer or you can apply more for a higher color payoff. It’s a really pretty color and would probably look good on any complexion. The shine is good, but it has that kind of tacky/sticky feeling most lipglosses have. But if you can deal with that, this is a pretty decent gloss. I’d like to try some of the other shades sometime (it comes in 18 colors).

And that’s all for today! As always, thanks so much for reading!
